Empties: May 2015

About a week ago it seemed like I'd have the smallest empties post to date. I made sure to focus on a few things that were almost finished, so I've still got a few products to show you! There's a few products with the tiniest amount left that I really thought I'd have finished by this post, but I didn't, so those will show up in my June post instead I guess! There's still a few things in here that I've been working on for a while, and some jumbo sized products which is always fun as it clears up a lot of space.

Bioderma Crealine Solution Micellaire 500ml ( here )
This is my favourite makeup remover. I use it mostly for just removing face makeup and use a more intense eye-makeup remover, but this works well at removing mascara as well. I've been through countless bottles of this and am onto the next.

Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning 125ml ( here )
I've got way too much self-tanner I need to get through before they expire. This is around the expiration date and I've kept it thinking I was going to use it, but I never do. I'd rather just toss it as it's expired anyway and focus on using my favourite self-tanners for the face before they go bad as well. I really need to not buy any more self-tanners before I've gone through what I have!

Indeed Labs Retinol Reface 30ml ( here )
This is so good! If you've got sensitive skin and want to use a retinol I really recommend this. I've already bought another tube of this, and will make sure to write a full review before I go through that one as well.

Biotherm Aquasource Rich Cream Dry Skin 15ml ( here )
This is pretty nice. I used this after removing makeup in the afternoons and it felt really good and soothing for the skin. It's for dry skin, but I didn't find it too heavy and it didn't clog pores.

Clarins HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase 15ml ( here )
This is a nice hydrating serum, but as it's bi-phase it's oil based, and I found it a bit too much to use during the day. I used this in the afternoons after removing makeup as well, and it worked very nice at that. Not something I'd buy the full size of though, I prefer lighter hydrating serums.

La Prairie Cellular Eye Contour Cream ( reviewhere )
The lovely La Prairie sales assistant gave me quite a generous sample of this eye cream and I've been using it for about 2 months. I've owned the full-size of this in the past, and wrote a full review. I love this eye cream and would definitely consider buying the full-size again.

Clarins Moisture Replenishing Lip Balm 3ml ( here )
This is a really nice lip balm. It's a thick balm that moisturises really well, and also makes lips feel good and look really nice and plump. I'd definitely consider getting the full-size, but I've got quite a few more samples I'll go through first!

La Prairie Swiss Ice Crystal Oil 3ml ( here )
This is nice enough, but I find it a bit drying where my skin is more dehydrated. It's also not special enough to warrant the hefty price tag. I've got other oils that I find much more impressive, most of them much cheaper than this.

Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Wrinkle Smoothing Cream 3ml ( here )
I don't remember when I opened this, I just found it the other day, and so in the bin it goes. I just can't take the risk using something possibly expired so close to my eyes. I also don't remember anything about it so I can't really give much of a review.

Yu-Be Moisturising Skin Cream 3g ( here )
This is really good. I've used it on cuticles and dry patches during the winter months. It works absolute wonders and I really want to get the full-size.

Jason Soothing Aloe Vera Pure Natural Deodorant Stick 71g ( here )
This is absolutely useless. It does nothing and is incredibly messy as the product melts and gets everywhere. Not something I'll ever buy again, I'm very disappointed. I will say it smells decent though, just a clean simple scent.

Dr. Bronners Magic Soap  Unscented Baby-Mild Pure-Castile Soap 473ml ( here )
I use this to clean my brushes and I really do like it for that. I've still got a bit left that I've decanted into a soap dispenser, but I'll buy another bottle of this soon enough.

Fountain The Geek Molecule 240ml ( here )
This is awesome stuff! I have no idea how, but this really did help me get more work done both in terms of school, the blog and any other little errand I had to run.  I really want to get another bottle!

Soap and Glory Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk 500ml ( here )
This smells amazing. I bought this in Ireland in the fall and only just finished it now. I haven't just used this, but 500ml does last a long time. This is a lighter lotion that absorbs quickly, but still moisturises really well. If this was available in Norway I'd definitely re-purchase.

Biotherm Lait de Gommage Gentle Exfoliating Milk 75ml ( here )
A pretty nice body scrub. It's quite abrasive, is easy to use and you don't need to use too much. I wouldn't mind buying the full size at some point, but it's not something I absolutely need.

Philosophy Hand Cream in Peppermint Stick & Fresh Cream 30ml x 2 ( here )
The quality of the Philosophy hand creams isn't the best - they don't moisturise that well, but it's nice for daytime. What wins me over are the amazing scents. Peppermint Stick smelled really nice, and you'd love it if you love peppermint. My absolute favourite was Fresh Cream - it smells AMAZING! I think the hand cream was limited edition, but I've spotted the Fresh Cream Body Lotion at Sephora's website and really want to buy it!

Cowshed Lazy Cow Soothing Body Lotion 100ml ( here )
Cowshed has some really good body lotions. I've only used samples in the past, but loved them all. This big tube that I got for christmas as part of a three-piece set was no different. It absorbs quickly, but moisturises really well. The scent was also really nice.

Cowshed Bath & Shower Gel in Gorgeous Cow & Horny Cow 30ml x 2 ( review here & here )
I've just written a review for all of the Cowshed shower gels that you can check out. I don't want to repeat myself to much, but if you haven't read the review; the Cowshed shower gels are all really good quality!

OPI Nail Envy Original 15ml ( here )
This is really good for my usually dry and brittle nails. I don't know how, but if I use this my nails get so much stronger and healthier and stop breaking off. I've gone through a few bottles and will definitely be buying again!

Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish in 313 Cocktail Passion 12ml ( reviewhere )
The colour of this is nice, but the formula was awful. It was streaky and difficult to apply. I've been on a succesfull nail polish no buy for over a year now and have been trying to use all of my polishes to see which one I want to keep or toss. Since it's been over a year and I've still yet to use them all (yes, seriously) I've reached the point where I've decided I just don't have time to bother with bad formulas. I've got way too many expensive and fantastic polishes that are all going to go bad before I finish them, so I won't be keeping this one.

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara ( review - here )
I remember loving this and was surprised I found it so underwhelming this time around. I decided to let it sit for a while, and must say that after a few weeks when I decided to try it again it was much, much better. This is definitely one to open and let dry for a week or two before you use it. After it's dried a bit it's a really good mascara - gives nice volume, a bit of length, and all without clumping.

Yves Saint Laurent Babydoll Volume Mascara 2ml ( here )
This is a really good mascara, especially if you want a lot of length, and it gives a nice amount of volume too. I find it gets unusable as it starts to dry out, it gets a bit clumpy and the lashes look thick all the way which I don't personally like. It's still a very good mascara, I always enjoy my samples of it.

Barry M Lip Paint in 145 ( here )
I've been holding onto this because the colour is amazing, but it's just gotten too old and has to go. I loved this lipstick when I first bought it and actually used it a lot, though it doesn't really look like it. It's a stunning bright pink and the formula is really good too, especially considering the price tag! It's super pigmented, doesn't dry out the lips and lasts really, really well! I just might buy another one next time I'm in London where Barry M is available. If you are on a budget I would really recommend these!

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Toilettehere )
I love this fragrance, and have the potent 'Parfum' version. It's sweet, but a bit spicy so it's still more interesting. It's got a vanilla, musk, vetiver and patchouli base. Rose, jasmin and litchy middle notes. Bergamot, orange and grapefruit top notes. It's a wonderful all year round appropriate perfume that everyone should own at some point in their lives. It's a bit of a classic.

Hermes Eau de Mandarine Ambréehere )
This is a more simple three notes perfume; amber, passionfruit and of course mandarin. It's nice and fresh, but it lacks a bit of character for my personal tastes. I also found it didn't last too long on the skin. Worthy of trying though.

L'Artisan Parfumeur Onde Sensuelle Eau de Parfum  ( here )
This is a beautiful dark and musky fragrance. Definitely lives up to it's name. If you don't enjoy a heavier scent, you won't like this. However, if you like your perfumes to make a statement this just might be for you. This is packed full of different notes so I won't list them all here, but a few include cinnamon, musk, juniper and amber.

L'Artisan Parfumeur L'Eau de Ambre Eau de Toilettehere )
This is a beautiful darker scent as well, one that is perfect for the darkest rainiest days. I really want to get this next winter, it's too heavy for the summer months. This one has just four notes; geranium, vanilla, patchouli and amber. I found this didn't last too well on my skin, which is disappointing, but the scent is so good I still want the full size.
