The avid fashion spies amongst you will know that AW12 is set to be the season of darkness, an eerie voyage from lady-like florals and pretty pastels to blackened hues, edgy designs and full-on grunge. Gothic figures strutted the catwalks drenched in rich textures and elaborate brocades, beautifully mirroring this devilry trend in their makeup with heavily-lined eyes and berry-stained lips. Clarets, violets and burgundy were all present and this on-trend lipstick from Accessorize could serve you well if you are considering going over to the dark side this season!
Firstly, I love the packaging of this lipstick and it follows the iconic Accessorize image to a tee. The top is stocked with a little extra lipstick for those quick touch-ups on the go and each product is laced with a vanilla-sweet fragrance which is really nice. Passionate gives you a gorgeous, deep colour with a matte finish and impressive lasting power. The colour is perfect for achieving those wine-stained lips, layering your lips with a hit of rich burgundy. But unfortunately the consistency isn't the best and you need to be equipped with a good lip brush and a lot of patience to achieve a flawless finish. The formula is a little drying and doesn't smooth that easily onto your lips so you have to really commit to the colour and build it up to get the strong punch of purple you want. For the modest price though, this lipstick is fun and gives you a great colour pay-off.
